Basket of Flowers
Just flitting through - thought people might enjoy this Basket of Flowers on a Doiley at Old Gippstown.
In the hundreds I have looked at, I hadn't seen spider web flowers used on doilies.
It is a really simple piece, but beautiful. The stitch used on the handle is interesting:
I am thinking it is laced Herringbone, but I am not totally sure.

It might be chain braid stitch?

... or it might not - I am no expert ... but if anyone is, it is the owner of the website that link is from!
What a lovely little piece of work! Those daisies look so different worked that way, rather than the usual lazy daisy (detatched chain) stitch, they really come to the front. Thank you for sharing Linda.
