Old Quilt on eBay

Interesting old Crazy Quilt on eBay. I wouldn't bid on it - too degraded and not all that wonderful a piece. But it would be interesting to know how old it is. My initial impression is 1920s to 1930s, but I could be way out, the way some fabric is shattering.

One thing is for sure - the way they fold it would not help with the shattering fabric.

Linda, I'm with you. I would say 20's or 30's judging by the prints. The deteriorating fabrics could have been silks left over from the turn of the century. And you don't usually see "tied" crazy quilts. That was something usually done on traditional patchwork quilts only.

It's ashame that it's in such bad shape. The colors are really pretty. And no, I would never fold a CQ like that either!

Just surfed over here to mention that I got to go to our local quilt show yesterday and what beautiful quilts we saw, and here its your topic today. None were crazy quilts that I remember, but what a great show of local talent. We did see 2 great crazy quilts on display as part of the museum collection. One was done in velvets and still lovely.
